Saint Remy Guest reportage - Saint Remy vue par June et Ted

June & Ted were in St Remy last and looked like they enjoyed their stay. They stayed at the Hotel Mas des Carassins a nice 3 star hotel located in a quiet area of St Remy, mid way between the village centre and the main attraction of Glanum Ruins and St Paul's hospital (where Van Gogh was staying). They enjoyed their large room and its beautiful terrasse. Loved the dinner although they found it to be "too heavy for American" and are still wondering how we can eat so much in the evening.Found that the room was nicely designed with "very thoughtful touches in our room and throughout the grounds". Special mention to Pierre the owner for its sense of humourA very charming fellow

They loved the visit of the Monastery of Saint Paul de Mausole ad forwarded the bellow picture.

June & Ted sont maintenant de retour aux USA mais ont réellement apprécié leur séjour à Saint Remy.

Ils ont choisis de rester au Mas des Carassins. Ils ont apprécié le calme de l'endroit, l'accueil de Pierre et de son équipe, les petits détails dans la chambre.... Le diner dans le jardin : "excellent mais trop copieux pour nous les les Américains...." Comment faite-vous Philippe pour rester si mince m'ont-ils demandé....

En juin, la visite de Saint Paul de Mausolé est particulièrement agréable car le champs de lavande est en fleur. Attention aux abeilles butineuses! Et lors de leur passage, le lieu était investit par des peintres asiatiques (de futurs Van Gogh ???)

A new 4 star in Cannes - Un nouveau 4 étoiles à Cannes

Just heard that a new 4 star is being built in Cannes' centre.  This boutique hotel will take the place of the "trésorerie de Cannes" (the place where you pay your taxes...) and will feature 28 rooms on 4 floors. Not much info yet as the demolition works are only to start this coming fall....

L'ancienne trésorerie de Cannes sera démolie courant de l'automne 2012 pour faire place à un hôtel 4 étoiles de 28 chambres durant l'année 2013.
Guère plus d'infos à ce stade mais je vais me renseigner....

My friends Naomi and Marty Rayman were at the Chateau des Alpilles one of the best rated 5 star hotel in Saint Remy de Provence last may and they refer to their stay as "prendre plaisir". Marty forwarded me some of his pictures to share with you....

Mes amis Naomi et Marty Rayman sont maintenant de retour aux Etats Unis mais ils ont souhaité partager avec vous quelques souvenirs de leur séjour au Chateau des Alpilles à Saint Remy de Provence.  Leur commentaire : un simple "prendre plaisir" qui veut tout dire....

Hotel & Winery in North Vaucluse - Le Domaine de Cabasse renovated. Hotel & Vin dans le Vaucluse, Le Domaine de Cabasse revit.

On Monday, I drove up to the so lovely perched up Village of Seguret to visit The Domaine de Cabasse a hotel coupled with a winery. New owner Anne & Benoit Baudry just took over the hotel last January and kept themselves very busy over the past months. Most of the 19 rooms have been totally renovated, bringing back the hotel to its 3 stars standard.
All rooms overlook the vineyard, and you can of course "drink what you see" in the restaurant. Benoit Baudry is considering organising private tasting for hotel's guests and he surely loves to talk about his wine.
Just a few miles away, you can discover the other vineyard of Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaume de Venise and much more or just stroll through the street of uphill Seguret.

Lundi dernier, j'ai pu découvrir Le Domaine de Cabasse, un hotel au beau milieu des vignes. Anne & Benoit Baudry ont repris le domaine courant janvier 2012 et se sont bien occupés depuis pour rénover la majorité des chambres afin de leur rendre vie. Le Domaine vous propose aujourd'hui 19 chambres 3* avec vue sur le Domaine. Les chambres donnent toutes sur les vignes et Mr Baudry prévoit d'organiser des dégustations privées pour ses clients.
Et bien sur, l'endroit est parfait pour la découverte des nombreux vignobles à quelques minutes de l'hôtel (Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes de Venise etc)

La Bastide de Marie (2) Reportage from Guests - Retour de clients

My friend Julie's clients (check her informative & fabulous provence site) are just back from the vacation Julie helped them to plan in Provence and kindly sent me a "reportage" about their stay at La Bastide de Marie.

Naomi and Martin refers to La Bastide de Marie as

Naomi et Martin, un très sympathique couple d'américain de la région de San Francisco ont découvert la Provence il y a 15 jours. Ayant eu le plaisir de passer une soirée très agréable avec eux, Naomi et Martin ont eu la gentillesse de me faire suivre un petit reportage photo sur leur séjour à  La Bastide de Marie, selon eux "un lieu parfait pour découvrir le Luberon sous un autre angle"
